Who is this for?

This 18-month program aims to help owners and franchisees of hotels, motels, inns, gyms, clubs and spas.

What are the benefits of joining?

You will get:

  • Expert support in developing a building performance improvement action plan.
  • Assessments of technologies that can maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support in the deployment of a technology upgrade.

You can expect to achieve up to:

  • 40% savings on electricity costs and improved resilience with integrated solar, geothermal and battery storage.
  • 30% savings on heating and cooling costs with energy-efficient HVAC equipment and advanced window coatings.

Who can apply?

Owners, franchisees and leaders of organizations that fit the criteria below are welcome to apply.

  • Any number of storeys and square footage per building.
  • Any number of buildings in an owner’s portfolio.
  • Any annual revenue across an owner’s portfolio.
  • The owner owns both the building(s) and the business(es) operating in the building(s).
  • Planned retrofit or upgrade project within the next one to two years, ideally with early planning steps (e.g., building performance audit) already completed.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost for participating in the cohort. MaRS is eager to facilitate connections that may have the capacity to fund innovative solutions to reduce energy consumption should your company see the value in adopting the technology.
